I started with a demo of MGS for PS1 (which I sucked at), then rented MGS2 as a personal joke, expecting I would suck at it. I didn't, and got hooked. I've beaten MGS2 and MGS:TTS, never played MGS on PS1, though. Can't wait for MGS3 and MGS: Ac!d (the PSP version). I played MGS:VR for PS first. Then I palyed the original. I am hooked on it.

The puzzles were FUN, but I'm stuck on the part where I have to fight 3 MGs at once. (they just keep coming back!)

your on a wierd shaped platform and theres no way you can go!! Correct, if yes then i know where you are!
the only thing really you can do is attack them after a couple of them dying it should let you carry on with the game, but it's just can you survive that long seeing as they have some decent attacks!

How many do you have to destroy? I destroyed 4 of them thinking it was 6, but a 7th one came.

--------------------- BOSS: METAL GEAR RAYS --------------------- The only weapon you need here is the STINGER. You'll start against three Metal Gears, which mainly fire rockets and machine guns at you. Chuck a CHAFF GRENADE every now and again to scramble their radars and prevent them from using rockets against you. The best way to kill them is to shoot them in the leg first, making them open their big, metal mouths. Fire a rocket into their mouth (be quick) to do some serious damage. Damage all three equally until one jumps into the centre, where you can finish it off. Another will them jump into the centre. Avoid it's feet as it can stamp on you and kill you. Since you've already damaged it, it won't take too much to destroy it. When one is destroyed, another will appear and take it's place. If you run low on RATIONS and AMMO, more will appear in the centre as the fight progresses. Once you've destroyed five, another cut-scene will start. this is off the link it says five but i'm sure theres a few more than that! have you tried finding a strategy guide online if not the here click here for it

The MGS line is definitely great, but what about the origional Metal Gears? They were awsome in their own right, 'cause with them, there would be no MGS! I loved playing the origionals on Nintendo, MG was one of the first Nintendo games I owned, and I still play them today whenever I get bored.
As for MGS, I have a few of them (PS1 MGS, MGS: TTS, and MGS: Substance), I loved the first one (especially how they revived Gray Fox), but the second one became too peachy and left too many things unexplained! Lalelulelo?!?!? Where did that come from, and in MGS: SE it's simply a password for the rebels, it doesn't seem to truly mean anything. Overall, though, the game itself was great, and I loved when the comander goes crazy in the simulation over your radio, and the screens from the origional Metal Gears. Great series!

I never played the NES versions. The PS1 verion was the 1st one I ever played, and by then I couldn't find the old ones.
The MGS for PS1 I beat, but MGS2: SOL I have yet to get past the loads of Metal Gear that attack you.

That part is rather annoying (I actually just ended up using Action Replay!). The main thing (like stated before), is to try to shoot out their legs, which causes them to open their mouths, then shoot there, since that takes the most damage. Watch out for getting crushed too, try to focus on one Ray at a time, otherwise you'll have two or three of them stomping on you at once!
Or just go get an Action Replay and have infinite health and ammo! ;D
