How do you feel about insurance?
On one hand... It makes it so people get paid for something that wasn't there fault.
On the other hand... If they didn't have insurance they'd be more careful and maybe get in fewer crashes.
I personally think that you should have a choice instead of having to pay $1,000.00 a year just to have a car on the road. OR at least make it so you can afford it! I mean they START you out at the HIGH price and THEN lower it after SEVEN years. (most people will have more money after 7 yrs, why wait till then to lower it?) They just want to make it hard for you.
Some people pay only $200 per year, but that is old people, and you know how old people are usually rich, well I can see why. They don't have to pay so much for insurance.

the only thing is with insurance when you are younger, you are more prone to be speeding as a joy rider, rather than a responsible person. I know what you mean about the prices i mean in uk we have to have road tax then insurance and the car must be MOT'd (MOT is a test carried out by garages to certify that the car is suitable for the road) this can be alot depending on what car you are driving (engine size, diesel).

MOT = inspection here in the US
You know, a wise man once told me: "If you're conservative when you're young you have no fun, but if you're liberal when you're old you have no brains."
So I guess a lot of people speed when they're young, but they are most likely not paying for it themselves, they probably get their parents to pay it for them, otherwise they'd drive carefully.
I know I haven't gotten in any accidents since I started driving at age 13. I drive very careful, and only speed if it's safe to. Like on a long stretch of road with no one on it and you can see ahead of you for miles. (Don't find many roads like that though.) Oh, and in video games.

i haven't tried driving but am hoping to learn in near future, but on driving games i'm constantly speeding hitting walls on GT to assist me on corners and sideswiping other cars of the road to achieve first place.

In GT games you can drive all out, and just race your best with nothing mattering but winning that race. But that can be the total opposite of what you think about when you're driving, when life is distracting you or when the roads are dangerous. Driving for me now is going to be more stressful because of some problems I've already had, well one major problem that is with flying off the road and luckily no one got hurt or anything.
So I'm going to treat driving like a game where you fail if you screw up staying in your lane, good braking, good vision etc, where there is NO TIME LIMIT, because its all on negative points, and if you get one negative point you can lose the whole game. Being late is nothing next to the problems a 2000+ pound metal death shuttle (not exaggerating here!) could cause if you don't pay attention. SO pay attention! And remember what people said about "Don't be scared." ? Forget that, be scared. Just don't be paranoid. But being scared as you drive will keep you from screwing up too much, hopefully.

abit like the licenses on GT, then. plus if you have someone with you this could assist more as you more than likely won't want them hurt in proccess of you screwing up.

That reminds me of how your sister would play "Midnight Club". She'd try and stay in the lines and stop for red lights, but when we'd go to London, she'd say "Hey! Get on the right side of the road!" hahaha [whisper=admin,lorddy]...oh how I miss her.[/whisper] btw, she joined the Portal. I don't think her e-mail works though, so she probably won't be posting any time soon.

Insurance is a very important thing for you to have your car on the road and if theres damage to your car and the car insurance company find a fault with your car they will take your car off the road until you pay it and get it repaired and then they should let you back on the road and if they find other faults with your car you have to pay it

In a video game the cost of failure is so much lower. Also, there is less distraction during a video game. They should have one where someone is talking to you and you're trying to look at the road while going into the almost setting sun glaring off of snow and ice. The video game would then say "Game Over", and you'd say ARRRRRRRRRGGGGG. But eventually you'd learn to deal with it, to be prepared and still drive safely.
