Well I thought I'd just toss out a topic to help Asia get her thread off the ground! ;D I figured I'd talk about the might emoticon! First off, here's some history for all you n00b's about the emoticon: www-2.cs.cmu.edu/~sef/sefSmiley.htmThat page is rather kool because it actually gives the exact birth of the smiley! Along with the origional thread that spawned a trend. So what do people think? Do you use emoticons in your messages? What's the next step, what will the emoticon evolve into? Post your thoughts!

Kool, the guy's name was Scott like me.
I think that the audibles on Yahoo IMer are pretty kool, at least the basic idea any ways.
I usually make my smileys like this...
(^_^)v
The "v" means Peace, those are the two fingers he's holding up.
I believe that one came from Japan.

Okay, so this may be a stretch, but I just had an interesting idea for the new emoticon. As you all may know, tons of people use instant messaging and I think it's safe to assume that many of them also have profiles. Now, messaging services have come up with some pretty spiffy things like animated emoticons, buddy icons etc. However, what if we could take that a step further? Talking to new people online can be awesome and I think everyone is a little bit curious as what the other person looks like. Now, I know they have pictures that you can post and webcams you can use. But what if there existed such an addition that would allow you to simply submit a picture of yourself and have a personalized set of emoticons that are actually created to look like you?! Maybe it's dumb, but it's a thought that ran across my mind. Plus, it's just another feature that we don't need to chat, but that tons of young people would most likely buy into
Your Dorky MOD,
Asia

Yeah, I used to do that back when my cam was workin'
I used to take a pic of an emotion & then use AIM's DC to send it to my friend Sam. We'd have lots of laughs all the time. (Making funny faces)
What someone could do is keep pics in a folder thats made just for that reason.
