The U.S. health averages for each state are listed at this website, www.unitedhealthfoundation.org/ahr2006/Findings.html#Findings , they are based on a study by the United Health Foundation. New York State ended up just 1.1% above average for the nation, still it is slightly above average. Minnesota finished with the highest percentage above average, 21.2%. The healthyness percentages are based on several key factors in health that the page describes.

According to that, out of the three states I had in mind to move to, Utah is the healthiest.

but according to most surveys worldwide the US is the least healthiest place in the world.

Yeah, it is true that the United States has many citizens who are carefree, lax or even destructive about their own health. But I think the situation is improving slowly but surely.

it slightly helps when you have people doing "supersize me" in which it is showing that constantly eating junk food can cause serious health problems.
