Lorddy was talking about how he liked the PS2 controller better than the GC controller, so I thought I'd make this thread.
There is an adapter that lets you use a PS2 controller on a GC, but there is none that let you use a GC controller on a PS2. I personaly like the setup of the GC controller, but it doesn't have the analog face buttons or the L3 and R3 buttons (or L2 for that matter). I know it is lacking a bit, but people act like it's a piece of [edit] sometimes.
The 1st Xbox controller was the worst controller ever made IMO. The type-S controller wasn't as bad, but still not that good. I like the 360 controller though.
The PS3 controller looks like it may be an awesome one, but they only have tilt and not full motion like the Nintendo Wii's controller.
The Wii-mote has the potential to become the best controller ever! I already think that it is, but you never know untill you try it. If Nintendo does everything right, they may just win the next console war! I hope the buttons are analog this time. I like the hard analog buttons better than the soft ones. I find the soft ones too hard to controll.

What's the difference between hard analog buttons and soft buttons? Is this like the L and R on the GC controller are soft, L1/L2/R1/R2 are hard analog on the PS2? Or is it something else?

You are right! The ones on GC are soft and the ones on PS2 are hard. The PS3 controller will have both though. I think it's the 1st one to have both btw. I like the hard ones cause they give you better controll. They are analog, and yet feel almost like a normal button. Something the other consoles don't have. The soft ones are like a hair trigger kinda, because I almost always push them TOO much! They have their pluses though, so I am glad the PS3 will have both.

Yeah the GC buttons can be useful but they can be touchy too. It's good to have both kinds of analog button so that when you need to do something like fire a weapon, you will probably want a hard analog button so you don't accidently set a soft one off or something. Soft ones I guess help more for brakes for example.
