I have heard that in Europe they pay alot more for gas than they do in the U.S.. However, most European cars get better gas mileage than American cars in general. And there is better public transportation in most of Europe generally. Also Toyota, which was once a Japanese company but now they have plants here and workers here assembling in the U.S., usually along with the other foreign brands, get better gas mileage. But also there may be higher prices for gas in those other countries so maybe it evens out mostly between Europe, Asia and the U.S.. I was wondering, what do cars cost in the U.K.? And also I wonder why the PS3 costs more there... is it the shipping? Or something to do with import fees, or something to do with warranties or ..something else? If anyone knows please let me know.

It depends on what car your after as to how much you pay, most of the little cars (clio's and fiesta's) start of at about £7k, so we get charged shed loads of tax not just on purchases but even on our wages.

Is there a minimum wage law in the U.K.? There is one in this state, and also a lower one that applies to the whole country. Also, does the percentage you are taxed on your income go up if you make more, like in the U.S.? Where if you are making alot, you get taxed maybe 50% or even more? Also, are there big differences between different countries' car prices there? Here it seems like the traditional big three of the U.S. (Ford, General Motors, and Chrysler (now Daimler-Chrysler)) are the mid-level prices, and the cars from Asian companies are a little lower priced usually, and the European are similiarly priced.
Also an interesting rumor I overheard, its possible that Ford might buy Chrysler from Daimler-Chrysler, then Ford would control Chrysler and also Dodge. I wonder if that would ever happen....

there is a minimum wage but it varies on your age, the amount you get taxed doesn't vary even if you was on 100K a year you would still get taxed 22%. In the UK we pay a high level of import tax so any car that is produced out of UK we pay alot more than other countries in the EU.

That is cool about the flat tax, I wish we had that or at least some better system than what we have now. You get punished when your income is higher in this country, so much that sometimes a raise hardly matters at all if you get only enough to pay more taxes and there goes the extra pay. It is really interesting to see how the laws are different in other countries and how they find good solutions to the problems that face many societies, there are answers that are the same and that are quite different and I really like comparing them. Thank you for the information Lorddy.
Also about the Playstation 3, I have tried it and I was very happy with the controller and the graphics. The game selection is coming but it is not great yet. Still you have the ability to play the older PS2 and PS1 games which gives you huge numbers of choices and alot of them are classic games or still waiting to get huge numbers of fans which they deserve. Some people are a little bit disappointed with the PS3 but I think it is because there was such incredibly high expectation. This is better than the other systems I have seen by some, well I think the Wii is just as good in other ways, but the PS3 is the best at what it does for a console system. But if it was the best system you would ever expect, would you ever buy another system? They did a great job and even lost money on the consoles because they are so expensive to build. I think if you buy it you won't have to look to the next system for at least 3 or 4 years, and who knows when they want to make another one anyways.

playstation spokes-person said that the ps3 is a console that could last 10 years if that happens then it would be worth buying, but you know that they are already using this current console as a basis for the nex-gen.

I heard they stopped making the 20 GB models. So everyone has to pay $100 more now. The 60 GB model is awesome anyways, but some people may have wanted the cheaper one though.
